My third trimester has officially begun, which means (among other things) that I now start going to the doctor every two weeks. At my last doctor's visit, I took (and I'm very pleased and relieved to say, passed) my glucose test. Before this test, you have to drink a small bottle of straight glucose -- it tasted like an extra-sweet Sunkist -- before they draw your blood, which I found rather unpleasant (one of the nurses was like, "mmm, I love that stuff) in addition to the sugar crash which ensued later that afternoon. I am happy not to have to repeat the experience!
Supposedly, the Bopper now weighs two and a quarter pounds and measures just under 15 inches (which the online pregnancy updates I receive liken to the size of a Chinese cabbage). He now has eyelashes and can blink his eyes.
Tomorrow, we have our hospital tour at Durham Regional and on Sunday our first baby shower hosted by Lynn and Amy! In addition to it being our 3-year wedding anniversary on Wednesday, it's a big week!
We are soooo excited for the shower and to hear all about the hospital. You look marvelous and what a great way to spend your third wedding anniversary-pregnant with your new baby boy. all my love, Mimi(aka Lynn)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous Fall is on the way. A new baby,(another boy in the fam!!) plus Brad and Amy getting married. October 5 is also our wedding anniv. (34 big ones) and my Dad hits 93 on October 13. I am sure there are other events I am omitting, Lynn is in charge of remembering key dates.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, with all these blessed and spectacular events I am starting to believe the Cubs just may go to the World Series! Hey Hey!

I love that you always describe the size of the baby in terms of produce...summer squash, ear of corn, cabbage. Lauren always explained things so I could understand. Can't wait to see you guys this weekend and rub your belly for good luck.

Auntie Jean (aka Jean)
P.S. That's AUntie not Antie, like the insect, please make sure your son properly pronounces my title.
