DC Aunties

The first weekend in December, Bums and Doyle came on down to Chahl-stin for a visit. Although us girls have seen each other during the year, they had not seen Owen since he was 6 weeks old. Needless to say, they picked up right where they left off. In no time, they were laughing, running, playing, singing "wheels on the bus," and doing "uh-oh"s Beyoncé-style.

At the Waterfront Park, Owen was immediately drawn to the fountain and charmed Doyle into escorting him there. Bums and I watched from a distance:
Finally, we walked over to join in the fun. They had a ritualistic stair-climbing, fountain-observing, stair-descending sequence going on that involved these two stairs leading up to the fountain:
These stairs kept him occupied for some time, but eventually it was time to go for the gold:
And before you could say 'uh-oh', this:
turned into this:
This amused all of us to no end, and despite us "trying out best" to lure him away from the water, Owen proceeded to put his hand, arm, head and entire upper body in front of that fountain stream before it was over. It was a complete-out-fit-change-required occasion, which is how you KNOW you had fun.

During any good weekend with friends, there is time on the couch. Here Owen and Bums enjoy some of this time with a book:
After a very satisfying conversation about some of their favorite authors, these two were really on the same wavelength (check out their identical expressions in the next two photos):

And finally, Owen looking up adoringly at his Auntie:
MAN did we have fun. We already miss them like crazy...
