Cervical Suspense

We went to the doctor on 9/17 and she gave us the news that I was 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. She said the baby could come that night or in two weeks (which is when we knew the baby was probably coming anyway, so this wasn't really helping to give us more specifics). But the news got everyone all excited and thinking that we might have a September baby after all. I went to work after my appointment and had one of the most productive days of all time thinking that I might not be coming back the next day! (I think my keyboard was actually smoking from me typing so fast.) We went back to the doctor for an uneventful visit on 9/24. I declined to be checked, since it's rather unpleasant and because the baby will come when he comes! And while he still could be a September baby with these two days left, my feeling all along has been that he will join us in October.

So it looks like I will get to attend the all-day conference in Chapel Hill tomorrow that I signed up for months ago (everyone thought I was crazy) and hopefully get to celebrate Megan's birthday with her on Tuesday while watching the Biggest Loser at The Crunkleton. Of course, if that changes, you, dear readers, will be the first to know!

  1. Well since this is the last day of September I guess I believe you that the baby will be an October guy.He can join the list of great family members born in Oct.-Maddy-10th and Dee the 13th-also our anniversary is on the 5th and that would be nice. But I am ready and I wish he was too-love, Mimi or Pooh or whatever he wants to call me-xoxoxo
